Note² In the 1850 census, Henry, 37, and Elizabeth, 33, lived in Bayou Petit Caillou, Terre Par, La. They occupied dwelling #301 along with
several of their children; Thomas age 15; Camille, a 14 year old son; Taylor , a 12 year old son; Elizabeth age 10; John, 8; William, 6; Ozelia, 4;
Louisa, 3; and George, 1. Henry supported his family by farming and he owned 1800 of real estate property. He could read and write but Elizabeth
could not. Leon Ozio, age 25, worked as a laborer and could not read or write. He lived with them and was the son of Joseph Ozio and Emily Rhodes.
In 1850, Henry Roddy owned 9 slaves. 1 black female, age 27; 7 black males, age 16; 1 black female, age 14
