              This generation may have been the first or second generation with the Roddy Surname. Variations of the name at the time or prior to 1660 were either Rodach or Roderick,.
              The 'O' represented in the Name (say)...O'Roddy signified the male decendant of that family name with land-ownership.

    NOTE2 British Government imposed Protestant reform since Henry VIII, and promoted colonization of Scottish Presbyterians, in the biggest landgrab, in Irish History. During the Great Migration of Immigrants to the U.S., early 1500 a.d. to 1778 a.d., Edward Roddy, b. ~1725, journied to the U.S., arrived in Annapolis, Maryland, ~1745. 'EDWARD RODDY ' met and married ~1748, his wife1 'BRIGITA BOUGHAN' b. 1727, and domiciled in Annapolis, Maryland. They resettled in Ireland, sometime between 1749 and 1750.

    NOTE3 In 1756, Ireland, Edward and Brigita gave birth to a son, Richard Roddy. Penal Legislation, against Catholics, caused many children to be orphaned and repatriated to Britian. Both ' RICHARD RODDY' and his wife 'MARIE CLARK' from Ireland, Married in England, and resettled, along the Mississppi River, St. Gabriel, (Baton Rouge) Louisiana. One of the oldest settlements of immigrates in Louisiana.
