LAFOURCHE PARISH DEMOCRATIC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE BY-LAWS

ARTICLE I - NAME

      1.1 The name of this organization shall be the Lafourche Parish Democratic Executive Committee, hereafter referred to as the
            "Committee"

ARTICLE II - AUTHORIZATION

      2.1 The Committee is authorized by the Constitution of the Democratic party of the United States of America and the Louisiana
            Democratic Party.

ARTICLE III - PURPOSE

      3.1 The purpose of the committee shall be to govern all Democratic functions and activities in Lafourche Parish. To Promote the ideals
            and principles of the Democratic party of the State of Louisiana and the National Democratic Party.

ARTICLE IV - OFFICIAL OFFICE

      4.1 The official office of the committee shall be

            Raceland, Louisiana 70394

ARTICLE V - MEMBERSHIP

      5.1 The Committee shall be comprised of fourteen (14) members. Each member during his/her term of office shall be:

            a. A citizen of the United States of America; and

            b. A qualified voter residing within the limits of the District he/she represents; and

            c. A registered Democrat with the Lafourche Parish Register of Voters.


      5.2 Composition of the Committee. The composition of the Committee shall be as follows;

            a. One Committee member from each of the nine (9) single-member Districts of the Lafourche Parish Council as apportioned by
            same.
            b. One Committee member from each of five (5) at-large Districts, each representing all of Lafourche Parish.

      5.3 Tenure. The term of each Committee member shall be for four years Commencing with the official organizational Committee
            meeting following the election of Committee members and ending with the beginning of the next organizational meeting four years
            later.

      5.4 Oath of Office. All incoming members shall be administered an oath of office by a qualified individual prior to assuming the
             responsibilities of a Committee member.

      5.5 Vacancies. Any vacancy in the Committee shall be filled by the Committee, meeting in regular or special session, provided that
            notice of said meeting at which a vacancy is filled has been issued in adherence to rules set forth in these by-laws. A vacancy shall
            exist and be declared by the Chair if any of the following occurs.

            a. Committee member resigns by written letter to the Chair.

            b. A committee member is absent from three consecutive, regularly scheduled Meetings of the Committee, unless a valid excuse is
                provided by the member as outlined in ARTICLE V Section 5.1a, 1b, or 1c.
